Next up on the TT series is Conna Haraway who co-runs the indefinably good INDEX:Records with King Softy. The pair originally met and formed their label in Amsterdam (they also run Appendix.files) but Connor is now based in Glasgow while Amos lives in Berlin.

Like the music they make and release, I can't and won't attempt to describe this mix because genre terms don’t really work when it comes to these guys, but the whole thing encapsulates the INDEX style perfectly. I’ve also asked Connor a few questions about Glasgow because I love and miss that city so couldn't pass up the opportunity to speak a little about it (and it's very temperamental weather).

How are you today?

Not too bad, pretty tired. Just spent the weekend in London seeing some m9s and now back in Glasgow chillin’ on a sunny day

Who makes up INDEX:Records?

Amos and I suss the daily ongoings of label, but there’s a wider crew of us that dip in and out whenever they feel like it lol

What inspired you to start INDEX:Records?

As someone with no musical talent, I needed to find a niche

Where did you meet?

In Amsterdam way back in 2016, thru a mutual qt

Where are you all based?

I’m in Glasgow, Berlin is our hub, Auckland is our holiday home

What's your favourite thing about living in Glasgow (for Connor only ofc ha)?

Drinking tennents in my tenement with my co-tenant

What artist are you really enjoying listening to at the moment?

Idk, I kinda just flick between shit a lot, super chaotic vibes. Maybe I’ll say King Softy because I know how much he loves this mix

Is there someone or a type of music you listen to a lot we might not expect based on your music and mixes?

I listen to Muirs all the time

Where did you record the mix?

In my nu gaff in Glasgow, mid-way through moving flat and therefore reflecting my rather transient state of mind at the time

Theory Therapy mixes are about sharing the music that you personally find therapeutic, cathartic or restorative. What does that mean for you?

Catharsis for me comes from a variety of places. I’ve often found solace in melancholy and think there’s a lot of beauty to be discovered in sad moments.

This mix intentionally fluctuates between sombre and more buoyant instances, hoping to reflect the stages that lead to a need for catharsis and the restoration that we experience in post-therapeutic states.
